Sadevälja Farm
Sadevälja Horticulture Farm (http://www.sadevalja.ee) is located on the land of a 120-year old farm of the
same name. This ornamental garden by Kuivajõe River was established 12 years
ago by Jana Proos and her husband. When
designing the garden, their purpose was to maintain the image of a traditional
Estonian ornamental garden. In 2012, Sadevälja Farm was recognised as the Most
Beautiful Country Home in Harju County and awarded the Letter of Appreciation
by the Estonian President.
The farm sells a wide selection of broad-leaved shrubs, conifers and perennials. All the plants offered for sale are suitable for growing in the Nordic climate. Majority of the plants offered are also grown in the garden of Sadevälja Farm and you can see them when taking a garden tour. Today, the garden collection consists of around 400 different conifers, broad-leaven trees and shrubs and perennials varieties. The favourites of the lady of the house, who was trained as a professional landscape designer, are different varieties of Norway spruce, hydrangeas and herbs.
At the beginning of summer, there are colourful rhododendrons and lilacs pleasing visitors’ eyes. In July, you can enjoy the beauty of lilies, coneflowers and Monarda flowers. In August, the garden is featuring hydrangeas and cinquefoils.
You can also buy loom woven carpets and felted items made by the lady of the house herself.
